#URBX The Urban culture festival in Roubaix!

Street art, dance, rap, urban sports, but also fashion... Since the mid-1980s, Roubaix has been a playground for artists, creators and sportsmen for whom the city is a tool for inspiration, artistic practices, innovation and experimentation of all kinds. These cultures, which were alternative and underground when they were created, have now become the daily cultural practices of young people, from Roubaix and beyond, who have a vision for the city of tomorrow.

Through the URBX Festival, the Urban Cultures association has the ambition to position Roubaix - Hauts de France as THE city of Urban Cultures in France, in the centre of Europe and in the world. Its role is to encourage the opening up of barriers by encouraging the transmission of knowledge through inclusive educational programmes and by supporting the integration of young people through voluntary work, the creation of internships and jobs.

To do this, it relies on the strength of five disciplines: visual arts, dance, music, fashion and sport. It also mobilises the richness of Roubaix's history by involving local associations that have been working for many years in these different disciplines.

Few highlights of the URBX Festival:

Wednesday 15 June at 6pm: Inauguration of the festival: A moving show from the Grand Place in Roubaix to the Condition Publique, followed at 7pm by the Afro Live Party in Hall A of the Condition Publique!
Friday 17 June at 9.30 pm: Art point M's show "Foule Power", on the Grand Place in Roubaix.
Thursday 23 June at 9pm: The CultureBox evening, with concerts, dance, fashion and sport on the programme! An evening broadcast on France TV Culturebox!
Friday 24th and Saturday 25th June: Two concerts on the Grand Place in Roubaix with, among others: IAM - LETO - KOBA LAD - LUIDJI.... and many others!
Sunday 26 June from 12 noon to 10pm: The Block Party Urban Games in the Parc Brondeloire: International competitions of PARKOUR, STREET WORKOUT and WORLD CHASE TAG, initiations to urban sports and a rap competition organised by DA-MAS!
From 16 to 26 June: The Banksy Modest collection exhibition, in the former Banque de France in Roubaix.

And also, as part of URBX festival, street artists will be investing over the walls of the city and creating frescoes throughout the festival! In particular, there will be a day of Live Painting at the Usine de Roubaix during which you will be able to see the works of LadyBug, Anna Conda, La Dame Quicolle, Ami Imaginaire and Vianney Daltes come to life.
